Willy Wonka's Balmain Style - Sucre Chocolate & Dessert Heaven.

 A picture tells a thousand words - and, rarely for me, post-coffee and thyroid hype, the stunning new Sucre (325 Darling St Balmain) renders me speechless. 

I don't actually have a sweet tooth so the pull, the desire to step into this magic world, bewitched by the rainbow of colours in all shapes and sizes, takes me by surprize.  There are delicate little lemon tarts, knobbly chocolate covered "kebabs", a wall of beautifully packaged chocolate gifts from lavender & thyme to more traditional types. AND THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO KNOW HOW TO MAKE COFFEE!

Run by Balmain Locals, vivacious Judy Hall and the ever smiling Ian Newton, Sucre (www.sucre.com.au) is a welcome oasis on Darling Street, particularly when dark skies threaten.  Go on - treat yourself, you know you deserve it!
